Meet Your ABA Team

When your child begins applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy with Maxim Healthcare, they will be supported by a dedicated team of trained professionals, with each playing a specific role to help your child thrive. Understanding who’s who can help you feel more confident and connected throughout the process.

Behavioral Technician (BT) / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Your child’s day-to-day therapy support

BTs and RBTs are the familiar faces your child will see most often. They work directly with your child during sessions, putting the therapy plan into action in a hands-on, engaging way.

They help your child:

  • Build communication, social, and daily living skills
  • Practice new behaviors in real, everyday situations
  • Feel comfortable and supported during sessions

They collect goal data and share observations with you and the clinical team to track your child’s progress over time. Sessions may take place at home, at school, or in the community, depending on your child’s goals and needs.

Assistant Behavior Analyst / Midlevel Supervisor

Additional clinical support when needed

Assistant Behavior Analyst or Midlevel Supervisor works under the guidance of the BCBA to provide extra clinical support. When present, they help your child receive consistent, high-quality care.

They may:

  • Support BTs/RBTs during therapy sessions
  • Help implement treatment goals and behavior support plans
  • Assist with training and coaching the therapy team
  • Participate in caregiver conversations and progress updates

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Your child’s clinical lead

The BCBA is the clinical leader of your child’s ABA team. As a certified specialist, your BCBA designs and oversees your child’s individualized treatment plan and adjusts it as your child grows and their needs change.

Your BCBA will:

  • Conduct assessments to understand your child’s strengths and goals
  • Develop a personalized treatment plan and behavior support strategies
  • Supervise the full ABA care team
  • Meet regularly with you to share progress and collaborate on goals and services for your family
  • Serve as your primary clinical point of contact throughout services

A Team Working Together for Your Child

ABA therapy works best as a partnership. Your child’s team collaborates closely, and that includes you. Your input, observations, and goals for your child are a valued part of the process.

Services can be provided:

  • At home
  • At school
  • In a clinical setting
  • In other community environments that support your child’s learning

Have questions about your child’s team? Your BCBA is always a great first point of contact.
