We believe in empowering each child’s journey, and in utilizing proven therapy techniques and a compassionate approach along the way. ABA creates a path forward for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families that is flexible, empathetic and highly individualized, encouraging life-long confidence, connection and growth.

What is ABA therapy?

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy is based on the scientific principles of behavior analysis that study and seek to understand the behavior of individuals. These principles have wide-ranging research and effectiveness across socially significant behaviors and are especially effective in the treatment of ASD and similar diagnoses. ABA focuses on how behaviors change over time in response to environments, experiential factors and positive reinforcement. Clinically trained behavior analysts and technicians work to increase desirable behaviors and reduce those that are considered risky, disruptive or that may interfere with learning or daily life. ABA relies on the following scientifically based techniques:

  • Positive reinforcement
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Teaching during and through play
  • Functional communication training

Compassionate ABA sessions in secure settings

ABA sessions can take place where your child feels most comfortable, including at home, in safe community spaces, at school or in a clinic. Depending on your child’s needs, a session can range from two to eight hours per day .

Assessment

Your child’s clinician uses structured interviews, observation and interaction during daily activities to identify why challenging behaviors occur, then develops strategies to mitigate those behaviors.

Our ABA care providers work with children and their families to determine opportunities for growth, personal objectives and the best possible outcomes.
