Kaitlyn Patrick is the kind of Certified Behavior Technician who transforms the people and places around her. At our Tacoma, WA Behavioral Office, she is known as the teammate everyone counts on, the mentor new technicians admire and the caregiver families quickly learn to trust. She brings warmth, confidence and genuine excitement to her work and her colleagues often say she is the first person they turn to when they need support.

When a new technician arrived for her very first case in a daycare setting, Kaitlyn immediately stepped in to help. She spent more than an hour shadowing and supporting the new tech before her own session even began. She answered questions, modeled effective strategies and made sure the new teammate felt grounded and capable before she left. This kind of support is typical for Kaitlyn. She is regularly asked to help model skills for trainees, not just because of her clinical strength, but because of the approachable and empowering way she teaches others.
Kaitlyn manages all of this while working full time, pursuing a master’s degree and completing her Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) training requirements. Her supervisors note that she takes feedback seriously and applies it quickly. Over the past year, she has increasingly been able to anticipate challenges before they happen and has become more independent and confident in her clinical judgment.
Her impact is especially clear in her work with one client she began supporting less than six months ago. At the start, her client showed almost no interest in interacting with adults or peers and relied heavily on his mother to communicate his wants and needs. This led to high levels of aggression toward others. During the first week of treatment, he refused to engage with Kaitlyn completely. She stayed patient, persistent and kind. Now, he greets her with a hug and a smile the moment he arrives at daycare. His aggression has decreased in both intensity and frequency, and his communication skills have grown to nearly the level expected for his age.
Her supervisors describe her as one of the strongest performing technicians in the office, someone who embodies Maxim’s mission to enhance the quality of life within the community. Her supervisor, Virginia Butt, Assistant Behavior Analyst, noted,
“I truly believe she exemplifies Maxim’s mission to enhance the quality of life within our communities.”
She uplifts her teammates, supports families during stressful moments and brings her best to every session. Her dedication is evident not only in the progress of her clients but in the confidence and growth she fosters in her colleagues.
Kaitlyn Patrick represents excellence with heart. She shows up, she steps in, she learns and she leads. Her impact is felt by the clients she serves, the families she supports and the teammates she mentors.
