Maxim Behavioral is proud to announce Rodolfo Rodriguez as our 2025 Area 1 Behavioral Caregiver of the Year! The Maxim Caregiver of the Year program highlights servant leaders who embody our values, demonstrate excellence and set the standard for compassionate care.

Rodolfo Rodiguez Headshot 1447 copyRodolfo is a Direct Support Provider (DSP) with our San Diego, CA Behavioral Office who works with clients in our high-acuity intensive behavior support (IBS) program. Clients in this program often experienced failures in other programs due to a history of significant behavioral needs.

For many families, our IBS program is their last ditch effort at seeking support for their children with challenging behavior, and Rodolfo approaches this challenging environment with enthusiasm, professionalism and compassion. He was specifically drawn to IBS services because of how it can continue to support individuals past the age of 21-years old – a common cutoff age for most applied behavior analysis (ABA) services.

Rodolfo shows up each day with the intent to lift others up, to lead with heart and to create meaningful change in the lives of those around him every day, Rodolfo shows up ready to pour himself into the lives of those he serves, building lasting relationships with clients and families who have often struggled to find someone they can trust. His ability to navigate challenges with strength, grace and sensitivity leaves a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to work with him.

Through his hard work, Rodolfo’s clients are making breakthroughs and hitting milestones – many of them for the first time. His work uplifts families and brings them a sense of hope. Rodolfo has an amazing ability to balance structure and clinical insight with his deeply rooted empathy and compassion – something that sets him a part of a role model caregiver.

He is dedicated to continuing his own professional growth in the field of ABA. Recently, Rodolfo was promoted to trainer, became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and stepped into the role of Clinical Supervisor! His leadership extends further, where he steps up to cover sessions, so families continue to receive care, and volunteers to provide additional support when needed to other DSPs

His Clinical Manager, Rachel Grondin-Martinez, described,

“Rodolfo is not only a standout team member, but he is the embodiment of excellence in caregiving… in my opinion, he already embodies everything [Caregiver of the Year] represents.”

Rodolfo currently supports his patient, Tristan, who has autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and a history of challenging and self-injurious behaviors. Rodolfo spent several weeks building a bond with Tristan to gain and establish trust, before enacting any strategies to improve his behavior. Slowly, Tristan began to open up.
